The Old Kirk at Weem, a medieval building containing the Menzies Mausoleum, is situated near Castle Menzies in the village of Weem, just west of the current Weem parish church. The graveyard and grounds in which the Old Kirk sits are owned by the local authority.
Loxley Chapel was built in 1787, it served its local community for more than two centuries – but it is now a scene of destruction after arsonists set it on fire in 1996. Loxley Chapel in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, was closed in 1993, and now sits among overgrown plants as an eerie abandoned place of worship.
Standing outside this huge Gothic church was enough to make me forget about the 2 1/2 hour nightmare drive I had to endure to get here.
Along with Spookology, we investigated this grade 1 building. On the night we had full investigation rights to the cellar, bell tower, and the church itself.
